At the age of sixteen, Italian born Guido Ponzini began studying the electric bass. He is a graduate of the CPM Music
Institute in Milano and since 2002, has studied contemporary and world music with renowned producer Giovanni Amighetti. As
a Chapman Stick and bass player, Guido worked with many musicians on Peter Gabriel's "Real World" label. He has
also played with musicians Ayub Ogada, Guo Yue, Joji Hirota and Adel Salameh.As a composer, Guido’s
pieces have appeared on television, in theater and the Nintendo Europe event, "Wii Music Live". "Plugin
Contemporary Music" is the first classical-contemporary concerto for the Chapman Stick. It is composed
and played by Guido with violinist Angela Benelli (Roma Sinfonietta) and double bassist Jean Gambini (Nicola Piovani). "Ponzini
plays Uematsu" features pieces from the famous Japanese composer, Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), where Guido plays the
Viola da Gamba and electric bass.
